I’ve been batting the idea around in my head for awhile now of possibly starting a writer’s virtual support group of some kind. I’m not sure how this would go exactly. It would definitely have some rules to keep everything clean, civil and everyone safe. It would possibly be a Skype based group chat, sans webcams for privacy. I picture ideas being thrown around, input only when asked for and other healthy writing development. Encouragement would be the umbrella to help us all reach our writing goals and continue to grow as authors.

Some ideas could be we chat once a week/month for an hour, perhaps on Thursdays, and we can check in with each other on if we reached our word counts or whatever goal we set for ourselves. Accountability or something like that. 😊

I attended a local writer’s group in my area and eventually left because I was feeling pretty uncomfortable. I was looking for something like Tolkien’s “The Inklings“, but found myself surrounded by mostly romance authors (of all sub genres) who freely talked about the intricacies of the birds and the bees. Ahem.

Let me know if there’s any interest and I can start thinking about it some more. This whole writing adventure can be very discouraging at times but I know there are great writers out there who just need a chance to grow and develop their writing. It’s a journey we’re all on. Cheers! ✏️
