Music meets writing prompt. Writing prompt means practice. Practice equals shiny literary awards on your next book cover and access to free taco bars inbetween interviews asking about your literary genius. Yum.
Join in, folks. Tacos for all.🌮
And special shout out to Chelsea for participating in last week’s prompt featuring David Bowie’s, “Heroes.” She’ll be taking a summer sabbatical soon, but check out her blogs for some great reads. 🥳
Step One: Listen to the song of the week. I recommend reading the lyrics while listening to the song. Let the song sink into you; this is your fuel.
Step 2: Using this week’s song as a primer for your brain, write an approx. 300 – 500 word short story inspired from the song. The following lyric must be in your story in a way that makes sense: “When I leave don’t save my seat, I’ll be back when it’s all complete.”
3.) Post your work on your blog (with a link to the contest) and a link below for me and other readers to read.
Rules: Keep it PG/PG-13. Author reserves the right to not accept posts that do not follow the spirit of the contest, etc. Post entry by 11:59 EST Friday June 5th. I’ll pick one (or more) entries that particularly stood out to me as creative, insightful and worthy of a thumbs up. Feel free to comment on what other writers wrote, keeping in mind the Golden Rule.
Here’s the song I picked for this week’s prompt. It’s become a Summer 2020 song for me. The beat is a chemical… And I ♥️ the band.
