I’m late but please join in if you’d like. 😊. My response is down below. Good luck!
When I first saw the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in theatres in December 2001, it was my first real experience of high, epic fantasy. I walked out of the movie theatre stunned and at a loss for words. All the different races of Middle Earth, the languages, the characters and noble plotline. It was like being given a key into another universe. It was bizarre and wonderful at the same time.
Tolkien’s imagination has shown me to never stop dreaming, imagining or trying. I still don’t quite understand how he wrote all of his books while also being a professor, learned several languages while creating others and took care of his family. The mind boggles…
So thank you, Peter Jackson for rocking this girl’s world with your take on LOTR. And thank you, Tolkien for sharing Hobbits and Middle Earth with us. Adventures are nasty wonderful things, after all. Even if they do make one late for dinner. 😉
