Author: SBSK Young Man w/Schizophrenia & Autism Interview

Schizophrenia is an illness I’ve always had interest in studying and deep sympathy for those who have it. My main character in my book, Memory Bound, has it as well.

Special Books Special Kids (SBSK) just posted this video and I wanted to share it. Let’s all try to support, care for and understand each other a little more in 2020.

Thanks for watching.

Blogmas 2019, Christianity: My Journey & Thoughts

Blogmas Day 20 – 22: Morning Prayer for Prisoners (D. Bonhoffer)πŸ™

I came across a snippet of this prayer while reading a book. I looked it up and found what I believe is the complete version. The words really struck me and reminded me a lot of the Psalms. I’m passing on the prayer to anyone who needs encouragement and prayer themselves. Pass it forward, if you’d like.

To read more about Dietrich Bonhoffer, click here. Mr. Bonhoffer coined the term “cheap grace.” One day I will read a biography on the man. And I may try to memorize the below and/or put it in my writing room.

Mr. Bonhoffer died in a concentration camp during the Holocaust. He was a man who knew and lived St. Paul’s famous words: “To live is Christ, to die is gain.” Meditate, chew and listen.

A belated Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and a brief note of thanks. I’m very thankful to all the writers I’ve met on here and continue to get to know. We’re all on our journeys and it’s nice to see the encouragement and support we give each other in our little corners of the internet.

Thank you as well to my followers and to those who have read my scribbles, whether on here or in my book. I hope you’ll continue to share your scribbles, too. If you want to become part of the Arcian crew, just hit that follow button; we’ll be glad to have you.

So write on and enjoy your Thanksgiving leftovers. Pass the cranberries, wouldn’t you? Kia kaha!

Indie Author: SMA & Spiranza Share (Disability Advocacy)

Shane and Hannah are an inter-abled couple I recently started following on YouTube. Disability advocacy, acceptance and whatever other terms apply are very important to me and are themes that tend to pop up in my writing, even if just a little. Shane is receiving shots for his condition (Spinal Muscular Atrophy, or SMA) from a drug called Spiranza.Β

They’re asking people to share the video to increase access to the drug and to also share the benefits it’s done for Shane.

So here we are. Enjoy, Arcians. Keep moving forward. ☺️

Joyous & Crying Kids

This past week I witnessed three great things:

  1. A child laughing in a foreign hospital thousands of miles away as my dog entertained him via video. His mother said this is helping him recover.
  2. A child crying and hugging his drug free mother who now has full custody of her children. I helped them get there, behind the scenes.
  3. I actually got to work early. Miracles do happen.

It has been a good week. Hallelujah.
