Hello and welcome to Day 24 of Blogmas 2018. Here’s a quick list of ten things I find very good about Christmas. This is to help balance out yesterday’s post of weirdness. Got one of your own? Leave it in the comments below. And please, like yesterday, keep it appropriate, of course.
And while you’re here, please click that subscribe button to help us get to 100 Arcians before the New Year. Say it with me: ker-kaw, ker-kaw!
1. The song, Handel’s Messiah.
Favorite of the saint and I.
2. The Christmas Pickle ornament.
Do you have one? Supposedly it’s a German tradition to hang a pickle ornament on your Christmas tree. The first person to find it gets a gift or something I believe.
3. The song, Mr. Grinch.
You have all the tenderness of a seasick crocodile, Mr. Grinch. Brilliant, fun lyrics.
4. Advent calendars.
I didn’t pay much attention to these until recently. I love the kiddie ones filled with candy. They even have Star Wars ones!
5. Salvation Army ringers.
Volunteers out in the cold, raising money for people in need. I love the sound of the bells. It’s a reminder against consumerism, too.
6. The movie, The Christmas Carol.
Any version really, even The Muppets’. I also read the book every Christmas.
P.S. The Muppets’ version is gold.
7. The song “Hark the Herald Angel Sings.”
Or as Sally from Peanuts would say, Hark the Harold Angel.
8. Snow.
I’m like a Newfoundland dog in a candy store whenever it snows. Everyone else shuts their curtains and turns up their heat. Not I. Break out the sleds!
9. Christmas lights.
Beautiful. I’ve heard the origin of Christmas lights is from celebrating the end of solstice, the darkest time of the year.
10. Yeshua (Jesus).
The reason for the season, as the saying goes. Happy birthday. 😊🎂

Honorable mention: More snow.
Yes, I went there.

Join us tomorrow for Blogmas Day 25! It’ll be the last day. Cheers!
My children’s Christmas stockings. My mother cross stitched them and sewed them. They are very special to me and my kids.
I love that! That’s amazing. What heirlooms.
