Author: Autism & Down Syndrome College Roomies (SBSK)✏️

Whenever I’ve had a particularly trying day, Special Kids Special Books (SBSK) puts the wind back into my sails. The youth and adults who Chris and his partner interview on their YouTube channel are amazing and full of life. I’ve learned so much and have been humbled at every turn. These people are warriors.

So if you’ve had a crummy day, or can’t quite solve life’s latest questions, pop on some SBSK. Here’s two friends I met today, as Chris always refers to his interviewees.

Cheers and keep moving forward. Keep writing. ✏️

Author: SBSK Video Share (Erica’s Inspirational Story)

The longer I live, the more appreciative I am of the Encouragers. Encouragers are the ones who give off genuine light, positivity and leave judgment at the door.

Erica’s story and words of encouragement are below. Around the 7:44 marker, I feel like these words could apply to writing a novel, as she explains how she felt after completing  a marathon.

Keep going, Arcians. Stay the course.

Author: Star Jar, Behind the Peregrine Name

I asked what you would like me to blog about and I had quite a few ideas requested. So here’s the first one from my Star Jar:

“Why the name Peregrine Arc?”

Indie Author: SMA & Spiranza Share (Disability Advocacy)

Shane and Hannah are an inter-abled couple I recently started following on YouTube. Disability advocacy, acceptance and whatever other terms apply are very important to me and are themes that tend to pop up in my writing, even if just a little. Shane is receiving shots for his condition (Spinal Muscular Atrophy, or SMA) from a drug called Spiranza.

They’re asking people to share the video to increase access to the drug and to also share the benefits it’s done for Shane.

So here we are. Enjoy, Arcians. Keep moving forward. ☺️

Indie Author Updates: I Give You Poe (You’re Welcome)

In America, we’re in a government shutdown–the longest we’ve experienced in our young nation’s history. With paychecks halted, FBI workers are lining up next to White House employees to get food distributions at Food Banks. Somebody pinch me. Surely this is fake news, right? No, you insist, it’s not? Well then. Double irony for $600, Alex, and pass the potatoes. This sure is a surreal way to bring in 2019. And sad.

Lifting up Writers: Leave and Read an Encouraging Comment

Writing, at least in the first stages, is often a solitary work. Frustration, anger and slow progress all join the party for writers at one point or another. Sometimes you stare at the pages and wonder if you ever properly learned your language. Other days, you forget how to spell your name, pronounce your novel’s title, or even how to properly pee.
