1.) Favorite Christmas Song:
Author: “Judy Garland’s “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Beautiful song, poignant lyrics and serious tone. The serious tone is unusual for Christmas music but underscores how the holidays can be difficult for a lot of people. And Ms. Garland looks absolutely stunning, like a Christmas star. Give it a listen! How about you, pal?”
Mr. Swinebottom: “Chorus of the Bells”, by Trans Siberian Orchestra. No doubt about that one! Talk about a song with fire–wow! It would be a dream to conduct that song.”
Author: “I know you could it, buddy!”
2.) Favorite Christmas Food:
Author: “Veggies and vegan dip. Yes, roll your eyes now. Power to the vegans!”
Mr. Swinebottom: “Hot cocoa with marshmallows. And if available–a dainty little candy cane to stir it all up with. Talk about yum!”
3.) Favorite Christmas Activity:
Author: “Walking around in the snow with the saint and the Labrador. And throwing snowballs!”
Mr. Swinebottom: “Doing our shows, of course! And afterwards, eating Christmas cookies. No judgment here if you eat a dozen–or two, haha! You can always dance it off.”
4.) Favorite Christmas Movie:
Author: “Any of the old classic stop motions or cartoons. I’m thinking Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, The Grinch, Santa Clause is Coming to Town, etc.”
Mr. Swinebottom: “It’s not quite Christmas if there’s no Sound of Music…Ah, Julie Andrews. Be still my musical heart.”
Author: “Psst, I know you love that movie, buddy. But how is that a Christmas movie?”
Mr. Swinebottom: “How could it not be? It’s beautiful!”
5.) Favorite Christmas Book:
Author: “The Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. I’ve made it into a tradition to read it every year. Go on and give it a read. It’s very thought provoking about the meaning of life. And it even has ghosts!”
Mr. Swinebottom: “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” by Clemente Mark Moore, of course! I read it every year in my Christmas mouse pajama onesie.”
